Editorial policy
The data and comparison order must be explainable from evidence, not from commercial relationships.
Data independence
No dental practice, insurance company, dental plan provider or other commercial entity pays to influence price data, rankings, comparison order, inclusion decisions, NHS acceptance status, Dental Access Index scores or data presentation. Commercial revenue is kept separate from data and editorial decisions.
How content is reviewed
All data pages are based on source-backed evidence. Sources are documented and dated. Price data is extracted from practice-published materials and reviewed before inclusion in statistics. NHS acceptance status is sourced from official registries and practice websites, with a defined freshness window. User-submitted reports are used as verification triggers only; they are never automatically published as fact.
Corrections
Anyone can report incorrect data. Practices can claim their page and update their own information for free. Corrections are reviewed and resolved within a target of 5 working days. The correction process is the same whether a practice has a paid enhanced listing or not.
Automation assistance
Automation may assist with collection, extraction and organisation of public data. It does not replace quality checks, source review, correction review or the decision to include data in public comparisons.
Guides and data pages
Guides explain dental pricing context and consumer questions. Data pages present source-backed observations, medians, ranges or clinic records where enough evidence exists. Guides should not imply coverage that the data layer does not support.
What the site does not do
CompareDentalPrices does not provide clinical, dental, medical or financial advice. It does not diagnose conditions or recommend treatments. It does not claim endorsement by or affiliation with any regulatory body, including the CMA, NHS, GDC or CQC. It does not use fabricated authors, reviewers or expert endorsements.
